The IATEFL English for Specific Purposes Special Interest Group (ESPSIG) is seeking a new Editor-in-Chief for its biannual peer-reviewed journal Professional and Academic English.
This is an exciting moment to join the journal as it works toward indexing in major research databases.
About the role. As Editor-in-Chief, you will:
• Lead and grow scholarship in English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
• Build and manage a team of editors and peer reviewers
• Oversee the journal publication cycle and liaise with the publisher and ESPSIG committee
• Promote the journal and encourage submissions from global networks
• Help shape the journal’s future direction and strategy
Term: 3 years (renewable once)
Requirement: Must be an IATEFL member with ESPSIG membership before taking up the role.
We’re looking for someone with:
✔ Strong knowledge of ESP and postgraduate teaching experience
✔ Academic publishing experience (author/reviewer/editor)
✔ Leadership, teamwork and strategic planning skills
✔ Excellent editing, proofreading and communication skills
