Vicky Margari works freelance as a business communication skills and ESP trainer. She runs blended and e-learning courses, specializing in digital business communication, Aviation English and English for Tourism and Hospitality. Her interests include intercultural communication, online learning and instructional design.
Before becoming a trainer, she worked in Hospitality as a Hotel Assistant Manager for 12 years and as an insurance broker in the Property/Casualty Insurance Sector for eight years.
She holds a Certificate in International Business English Training (Cert IBET), Cambridge Delta Modules One & Three, and she is currently doing the final module, Module Two, at the Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE).
Her passion is volunteering. She volunteers as a media coordinator for the IATEFL Business English Special Interest Group; as an online teaching assistant for CATAPULT (Computer Assisted Training & Platforms to Upskill Language for Specific Purposes Teachers), an Erasmus+ programme; as a facilitator for Diversophy, the Game of Cultural Competence; as an assistant coordinator for Electronic Village Online (EVO), a project of TESOL CALL-IS that offers free professional development for teachers in the format of five-week, online sessions held every year in January and February.
Having presented only at online conferences so far (IATEFL BESIG, TESOL Greece, TESOL Italy), she is looking forward to attending and giving a talk at her first face-to-face conference, the 2023 IATEFL in Harrogate, UK. She is incredibly grateful to Mark Krzanowski’s family and the IATEFL ESPSIG for this wonderful opportunity.
